Our birth doula services provide personalized pregnancy preparation, continuous labor support, partner guidance, evidence-informed education, and postpartum support for families throughout Warrenville, Naperville, Wheaton, West Chicago, DuPage County, and Chicago’s western suburbs.
Whether you’re planning an unmedicated birth, know you want an epidural, are preparing for an induction or cesarean birth, or simply aren’t sure what birth will look like yet, our role isn’t to tell you how to give birth.
It’s to help you feel confident making the decisions that are right for you.
What Does Having a Doula Actually Look Like?
We’ll spend time getting to know you, your family, and what matters most to you for your birth. During our prenatal visits, we’ll talk through your preferences, questions, previous experiences, and any worries you may have.
As birth gets closer, you won’t be left wondering, Is this normal? Is this labor? When should I go to the hospital?
We’ll stay connected as you notice changes or early signs of labor. You can reach out with questions, updates, or simply for reassurance as you navigate those final days and weeks.
When labor begins, we’ll talk through what you’re experiencing and decide together when and where you’d like me to join you.
Once you’re ready for in-person support, I can meet you at home or at your hospital or birth location, depending on your needs and how labor is progressing.
From there, I provide continuous support throughout labor and birth. That may include hands-on comfort measures, position changes, movement, breathing and relaxation techniques, emotional reassurance, helping your partner know how to support you, and helping you understand your options when decisions arise.
My support doesn’t end the moment your baby arrives.
I’ll typically stay with you for about one to two hours after birth while you settle in with your baby. I can support skin-to-skin and early feeding, help you and your partner get comfortable, and make sure you feel settled before giving your new family some space to rest and connect.
We’ll also reconnect during your postpartum visit to talk about your birth, check in on how you’re adjusting, answer questions, and connect you with additional resources or support when needed.
From pregnancy through those first hours and weeks with your baby, the goal is simple: you feel supported, informed, and never alone in figuring out what comes next.
